"Waiting For Santa" is by the Australian designer Leanne Beasley. I've had this pattern for absolutely years and never made it as the run-up to Christmas is always so frantic! This year I decided it was finally time to make my daughters a stocking (they're only 25 and 24 for goodness sake!!) so set about cutting up some gorgeous festive fabrics. These are from the Christmas Fun collection by another Australian designer, Lynette Anderson, and were just perfect for this project. I used some soft homespun for the lining, and the "labels" have been hand embroidered using 2 strands of DMC thread. A lightweight fusible pellon was used as wadding. A wooden button was used to attach the label, as I thought a ribbon was too fussy for these fabrics. As you can see, I didn't want my eldest daughter's boyfriend to feel left out, so made him one too. Now I just need to pop some gifts inside and they'll be ready for Christmas, although Alice will have to wait a little bit longer for hers - we're having another Christmas Day at the end of January when she returns from her travels.
