Just one more picture of "Love and Kindness" - this pattern is by the Australian designer Lynette Anderson Designs and is available o purchase as a PDF download from Lynette's online shop, Little Quilt Store. It was a gloriously sunny day on Sunday, perfect weather for a photoshoot. Anyway, this wall hanging is now on display in my sewing studio, where I can see everytime I'm sitting at my Bernina.

"Love and Kindness" - this is the latest pattern by Lynette Anderson Designs, and is available as a PDF download from Lyette's online shop, Little Quilt Store. Smaller projects like this one are great, as they're quicker to stitch, and look great when they're displayed together in a group, and this is is now ready to display on the wall of my sewing studio. Love and Kindness has been hand embroidered with a selection of variegated Valdani stranded embroidery threads and hand appliqued using Apliquick tools. This has been both machine quilted and hand quilted, and embellished with hand painted wooden buttons. Now it's time for a quick tidy up in my studio, while I ponder over the next project!
The first block of "Love and Kindness" is the Friendship block. This is also a free pattern on Lynette Anderson's website, as part of the Love and Hugs from Australia FB group. This really has been such a l stitch, and combines all of my favourite techniques - hand applique and hand embroidery - and no pesky hexies!!
I've added a gentle curved line of hand quilting to the outer border of this pretty wall hanging using a variegated Valdani Threads perle thread. This is such a lovely pattern, designed by Lynette Anderson Designs and made using a selection of fabrics also designed by Lynette, from a variety of collections. Love these soft colours! The final touch was sewing on the hand painted wooden buttons. Now it's almost done - I just need to add the hanging sleeve and a label, and it'll be ready for a photoshoot!
Quiet Sunday mornings are meant for sewing! I've been in my sewing studio with my latest project, and some simple machine quilting this morning, using a selection of Aurifil threads. Simple stitch-in-the-ditch around the blocks was all this design needed, as I didn't want to add anything too fancy. I really love this design, "Love and Kindness" by Lynette Anderson Designs, and I'm deliberating over whether to add some hand quilting to the outer border using a variegated Valdani perle thread to add some extra texture to it.
Eeekk!! This strip is made up of 0.5" finished squares! It's a great way of using up tiny leftovers. This is the Love and Kindness pattern by Lynette Anderson Designs, and is available as a PDF download from Lynette's online shop, Little Quilt Store. All the fabrics used in this mini quilt are from fabric collections designed by Lynette too. They all work well together, and it's a great way of using up tiny leftovers! Although I have to adfmit, I had to hold my breath at times when I was piecing these squares together, incase any rude words popped out of my mouth! Thankfully the 2 strips they fitted to the blocks perfectly - job done!
This project is coming along nicely. The wording on this block really is so true - the letters were stitched using backstitch, and a few colonial knots have been added. The gradual variegation of these Valdani stranded embroidery threads give an added depth that you don't always get when using plain colours. "Love and Kindness" is a small quilt that can be displayed on the wall or on a display stand, and as it's a smaller project, it won't take too long to make. I'm enjoying stitching early in the mornings before my working day starts, and this shows how productive I can be without any household distractions!
Some early morning stitching before work, when it's peaceful and quiet, starts my day off well! This design is called "Love and Kindness" and it's the latest pattern by Lynette Anderson Designs. This is only available as a PDF download from Lynette's online shop Little Quilt Store in Australia, which is great as it means you can download it, print it and start stitching it as soon as you like. This has been hand embroidered with a selection of Valdani Threads stranded embroidery threads. The applique was completed using the Alpiquick method, and just needs some surface embroidery to turn these pieces of fabric into the cutest thatched cottage.
I spent a rainy Saturday afternoon tucked away in my sewing studio piecing my latest project together. This pattern is "Green Thumb" by the Australian designer Lynette Anderson, and is made using fabrics from Lynette's Stonehouse Garden collection. This was bought as a kit from Cross Patch last year, and combines a mixture of hand embroidery, which has been stitched using a selection of variegated Valdani stranded threads, and hand applique. Some 4-patch blocks have been machine pieced and used inbetween the appliqued blocks. I'd bought this as a kit from Cross Patch last year, and the kit included the set of 5 patterns, all of the fabrics needed to make the quilt top, and included both the backing and binding fabrics too. This is approx 30" square, and hopefully I'll get a chance to quilt it next weekend.
I don't normally like garden gnomes, but I'm rather fond of this cheeky little fellow! This was the third block of Green Thumb, which is a 5-part design by the Australian designer Lynette Anderson. This has been hand embroidered using a selection of variegated Valdani threads which match the subtle tones of these pretty fabrics which are part of the Stone Garden collection, also designed by Lynette. I've used wool felt for his beard and moustache, and it's attached in place with a few colonial knots to add a bit of texture. All of these lovely fabrics, along with the set of 5 patterns, were included in a kit purchased from Cross Patch last year.
