I spent a rainy Saturday afternoon tucked away in my sewing studio piecing my latest project together. This pattern is "Green Thumb" by the Australian designer Lynette Anderson, and is made using fabrics from Lynette's Stonehouse Garden collection. This was bought as a kit from Cross Patch last year, and combines a mixture of hand embroidery, which has been stitched using a selection of variegated Valdani stranded threads, and hand applique. Some 4-patch blocks have been machine pieced and used inbetween the appliqued blocks. I'd bought this as a kit from Cross Patch last year, and the kit included the set of 5 patterns, all of the fabrics needed to make the quilt top, and included both the backing and binding fabrics too. This is approx 30" square, and hopefully I'll get a chance to quilt it next weekend.
