I adore stitchery patterns by the Australian designer Leannne Beasley and was so excited when I read on her blog that she was launching her own magazine, and so quickly set up a subscription with Quilt Fabric Delights and just look what arrived in the post last week!! I'm going to make this pin board for my kitchen... ..and I thought I'd share some pictures of her other designs that I have made. This is my version of "Ruth's Quilt" from Leanne's book "Living the Dream". The fabric I used is "Simplicity" by 3 sisters for Moda, and I used a dark pink DMC thread for the stitchery. This cushion was made using left-over Jelly Roll strips - the stitchery centre was taken from a Leanne Beasley quilt pattern "Journey of a Quilter" and this just about sums up what I enjoy about getting together with my quilting friends... ...this was made in rather a hurry - the day BEFORE Mothering Sunday, Mr F asked me what I'd bought for his mother. Luckily I'd already started the stitchery centre, so quickly made it into another cushion. Anyway, my mother-in-law was thrilled to bits with it. And finally, this was the very first "Couch Companion" that I made, (a sewing case, with a padded centre for needles and pins, and lots of useful pockets), and was a present for my sister who makes the most fabulous quilts and gifts. (Mr F got so fed-up with me sticking my needles and pins into the arm of the sofa that I soon had to make one for myself!!) Now where did I leave that magazine?

Hi Alex. I'm not sure if you realised, but I wrote this blog post back in November 2010. I don't think these magazines are available to purchase any longer.
