Valentine Bouquet

Another one of my projects from the past - this is a wall hanging called "Valentine Bouquet" and was designed by Hilary Gooding. This was a kit that I bought from my local quilt shop, Quilters Haven, and is uses the "Hearts and Flowers" range of fabric by Makower. The finished size is 48".....

...this shows a close-up of the roses in full bloom and the rose buds. This was my first major attempt at machine applique - and I don't think it looks too shabby!! This wall hanging is completely machine quilted with a cream variegated quilting thread, using a mixture of cross-hatching, straight row quilting and finally free-motion quilting. I suppose I should've really shown you this one in February!

Thanks Carol - I recently found a bag of left over fabrics from this wall hanging so guess I could make some "free" cosmetic pouches this weekend hehe!!

I can't believe the designer commented I'm so thrilled. I have been searching the internet for this fabric for a couple of days now since I saw a picture of this quilt on Facebook. The Person who posted the picture said it had been a free download many years ago from a website called "makoweruk" I searched their website, but of course it is no longer available there. Is there anywhere that I can purchase this pattern? Thank you so much, Angela

Hi Angela. I'm the person who posted the picture on a few FB groups. As I stated in the information with the picture, the pattern was indeed a free PDF download from the Makower UK website back in 2008. I have absolutely no idea whether this pattern is still available.

Thanks for responding to me. I didn't see a way to respond back to you directly. You aren't going to believe it, but I found an email for Hilary Gooding and got my nerve up to email her. She responded so quick it was crazy. She sent the pattern to me!! I was so surprised. She just made my day. your quilt is stunning. I'm excited to give the pattern a try. Thanks for posting.
