Here are the 6 blocks that I've been busy stitching for the past few months - Alice, Louise, Mary, Katherine and finally Charlotte. These all form The Sopwell Ladies Basket Society quilt, designed by the Australian designer Gail Pan Designs. The fabrics used are mainly from the Sequoia collection, by Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts for Andover Fabrics, and were supplied as a kit along with the set of 6 patterns from Cross Patch, an online quilt shop in Wales, here in the UK. (If you click on the pictures, they will be enlarged). These 6 blocks have all been machine pieced, hand embroidered and hand appliqued. Some of the baskets are trimmed with vintage lace and when the quilting has been completed, some vintage buttons will be added to some of the blocks too. Next step is stitch these blocks together, then add the borders - more pictures to follow later in the week!
