Another 24 skeins of Cottage Garden Threads have found a new home! The pattern for this folder, designed by the Australian designer Gail Pan, has been made like the previous 2, using fabrics from the One Stitch at a Time collection, by another Australian designer, Lynette Anderson. The fabrics (a selection of fat quarters) and this ecru coloured jumbo ric-rac trimming were purchased from Poppy Patch, as I really didn't need to buy another kit when I just needed an assortment of fabrics to mix and match!... ...this one has been hand embroidered using a variegated Valdani perle thread shade O556 - a lovely soft aqua shade - this was purchased as part of the Rainbow collection from Cross Patch - and I've picked out some vintage buttons in matching colours. These were attached to the front of the folder, stitching right through the wadding. .. ...this folder has 24 pockets inside for storing these gorgeous threads. These are variegated, stranded embroidery threads and they really are lovely to sew with. If you look in the Quilts folder at the top of my blog, you'll see a picture of "Flowerville" - this was designed by Rosalie Dekker, and was hand embroidered using a selection of these gorgeous Cottage Garden Threads... ...the folder closes nicely with a couple of fabric ties, tied in a neat bow. I've inserted a piece of stiff card into the folder before I sttiched the bottom piece of binding in place, to give the folder a bit of structure. Well that's 3 folders made - I still need to make at least 2 more so my CGT embroidery threads are all stored away neatly!
