My postman has been very busy over the past couple of weeks, delivering parcels from both the UK and Australia, and I was very excited when Block 7 of "Simply Blessed" by Rosalie Quinlan Designs arrived from Under The Mulberry Tree. I had planned to spend my evening hand sewing, so set to work getting some weaveline fusible interfacing fused to the back of the screen printed linen, and I was ready to get this in my hoop and start stitching. This one uses Cosmo Seasons variegated thread shade 8049 and it is perfect for the Tilda fabrics that make the rest of the block... ...lots of stitchery in the evenings means the embroidered centre piece was soon completed. The stain stitch spots and heart were completed with a pale brown DMVC thread from my thread box, as I preferred to stitch those in just one colour. Apliquick rods, appliqué paper and a glue stick, and a reel of neutral coloured YLI silk thread and I was ready to complete the applique with these beautiful Tilda fabrics... ...once the applique was finished, the borders were machined into place and the block was complete. Just 2 more blocks to go, and I can start to stitch the quilt top together!
