Ohh look what the postman delivered a couple of weeks ago - Block 6 of "Simply Blessed" by Rosalie Quinlan Designs. This was bought as a BOM from Under The Mulberry Tree in Australia as I couldn't find a stockist here in the UK. Includes screen printed linen, Tilda fabrics and Cosma Seasons variegated thread shade 8049. I prepped the back of the stitchery with some fusible interfacing (I prefer to use weaveline, and it's available here in the UK from The Fat Quarters and Patchwork Chicks) and managed to get the stitchery completed while I was on a little cruise with Mr F... ...the appliqué paper was traced and fused into place, ready for an evening of playing around with a glue stick and apliquick rods. I really enjoy this method of using appliqué paper, glue stick and my apliquick rods. Once all the edges had been turned over and glued into place they were hand stitched into position with a YLI silk thread... ...finally the side borders were machined on, and I was done! There just 3 more blocks to embroider once they've arrived from Australia - I can't wait to start sewing some of these blocks together!

Hi Nicola, having stitched all 9 of the blocks for Simply Blessed I am now preparing for the applique stage. Could you please say which applique paper you used?

Hi Evelyn I always use the Hugs n' Kisses brand of applique paper. I have tried a couple of other brands, but wasn't happy with them. I buy packs of it from Cross Patch in Wales here in the UK.
