A quilter can never have too many needle-cases! This one is called "Sewing Book", and the pattern is designed by Lynette Anderson Designs. This kit including the pattern, buttons, tape measure trimming and all fabrics, was bought online from Lynette's shop the Little Quilt Store in Australia. I really should have used a different coloured thread for the stitchery words "Sewing fills my heart with joy" but once I realised they show up very well, I really didn't want to unpick all those tiny stitches! The applique was made using my favourite method - applique paper, a glue stick and my apliquick rods, followed by a few dots of Roxanne's basting glue and a YLI neutral coloured silk thread... ...inside, the sewing book has some pockets for packets of needles that are also embroidered and a woollen needle holder too that has been secured into place with blanket stitch. A larger pocket is useful for embroidery threads and a needle threader. Fabric ties are stitched to the sides to hold it all together... ...a neat binding around the edge makes it look very smart, and I this will be put it to very good use! I just need to get a few packets of needles and some threads to fill up the pockets, and it will be wrapped up ready for a Christmas gift. I can't say who it's for, as that would spoil the surprise!!
