OMG - I almost had to be resuscitated when the postman delivered another parcel a few weeks ago! "Nature's Pace iPad Case" pattern by Hatched and Patched kit and pattern from the wonderful Julia at Cross Patch, a wonderful online shop in Wales. It didn't take me very long to make a start, preparing the background fabric with a soft lightweight fusible interfacing (my favourite is Weaveline). The stitchery design is hand embroidered with DMC threads... ...once the hand embroidery was completed, I made a start on the applique. The technique I used was with applique paper, a fabric glue pen and Apliquick tools. The applique is hand stitched in place with a very fine thread - I've used YLI silk in a neutral colour for this project... ...once the front of the iPad case was finished, it was pressed and trimmed to size. The I pieced together the back of the case, which was quilted very simply. The next stage will be to insert the zipper - I might need a large G&T before I tackle that as I haven't hand-sewn a zipper in place before!
