A couple of weeks ago this gorgeous bundle of fabrics and threads arrived from Julia Roworth at Cross Patch, ready start another BOM project, "Leanne's House" designed by another Australian designer Leanne Beasley. I spend an hour one morning before work, cutting fabrics ready for my latest project "Leanne's House" by the Australian designer Leanne Beasley. A couple of hours that evening was spent tracing the stitchery designs and piecing all the mini blocks together. I was due to go off on my holibobs to Scotland, and planned to take this with me to stitch on the long journey north... ...my top tip was to trace the stitchery designs onto calico then fuse weaveline interfacing to the back of the calico before piecing this all together. I used a very fine Micron Pigma pen and a lightbox to do this. The piecing was all done using my favourite Aurifil 50wt thread, a Schmetz Microtex size 60 needle, and a straight stitch needle plate. DMC threads were used for the embroidery. I had plenty of time on my journey to and from Scotland to get the stitchery on this block completed. Hopefully the 2nd block will soon arrive!
