This packet of fabrics arrived in the post the other day from Myquilt, in Norway - I'd already bought the pattern, Høne Pøne, and really liked this modern table runner. The fabric is "Brooklyn Heights" by Kitty Yoshida for Benartex.... .....I quickly made a start on putting the runner together - now I just needed to get some backing fabric. That meant a shopping trip unless maybe I could find something in my stash :)..... .....well, I couldn't find anything suitable in my stash so this is the fabric I bought for backing the Høne Pøne table runner - it's from the "Sew Chick" range, for Benatex. Oh and by the way Heather - I didn't have the right colour thread either so had to buy another reel - King Tut variegated dark grey..... .....as this runner was quite a contemporary design, I wanted to quilt it in a simple pattern, and straight-row quilting seemed to look right for this..... .....topped off with some appliqued birds (machine button-hole applique) complete with cute little black buttons for eyes..... .....this design will look super on any dining table, and I really enjoyed making this one, although I've got far more table runners than I could possibly use!! I really must think about selling some of my work!

Yes I did all the quilting before I appliqued the birds into place - i found this much easier.
