Today is going to be very emotional, as it's my last day in my current role, and I've been given an exciting opportunity and I'm starting a new job on Monday. Tissues incase of tears? Yes. Waterproof mascara incase of tears? Yes. Showstopper cake for afternoon tea?? Bloody hell YES!!! This is my version of the National Trust's recipe for the gin and lime cake that I recenty sampled on a visit to the tea rooms at Sutton Hoo. I'm sure my hospital colleagues are going to miss my baking skills almost as much as they're going to miss my nursing skills!

How on earth do you manage to fit in Nursing with all the patchwork you manage to do as well.

Hi Veronica - I've had to be very organised with my time - and it helps that I've got my room so I don't have to pack everything away at the end of a sewing session, and can squeeze in even a half hour "sewing fix" after a busy day at work! I'm not sure how much sewing I'll be doing now as I'm going to lose a sewing day with a change of working hours, and more travelling!
