It's been a rather prickly weekend over at Foreman Towers as all of these holly leaves have been hand stitched into place on my Hollyberry House quilt. The appliqued leaves were made by fusing 2 pieces of fabric together with Steam-a-seam Light inbetween the layers. The leaves were cut out and hand stitched along the centre using a variegated Valdani green thread - I really like this 3-D effect. Now these have all been stitched down, I can trim the centre square to size, add the pieced border and layer it up ready for quilting.
Hi - welcome to my quilting blog! My passions are my family, my dog, my friends and sewing, not necessarily in that order!
