The weather is beautiful here in Suffolk and I'm going to enjoy a relaxing day stitching this project "Sew Laugh Love" (pattern by Leanne Beasley) while I'm sitting in the garden. This is making rather slow progress - like my recovery following surgery, there is no rush. Unfortunately I've learnt this the hard way over the last couple of days - with lots of reverse stitching AND a trip to the doctor. So for the rest of today I'm relaxing in my PJ's and watching the world go by - from the comfort of my garden with maybe a little more sewing!!

I am SUCH a lucky girl!! A few days ago, a friend of my mother-in-law gave her a bag of buttons for me, as she had heard that I like using them on some of my projects. Well just look at these little beauties - I was like a child in a sweetie shop ooohing and aaahing over these! Some of these are really just GORGEOUS! I can't wait to get started on a new project and use some of them!
Today is day 6 of the "Tour de Fibre" and I've continued with a slow but steady progress of my first project, a stitchery design called "Sew Laugh Love" and is by the Australian designer Leanne Beasley. This was purchased originally as a kit, with pre-printed handkerchief linen and a selection of embroidery threads by Cosmo. I've finally completed the bottom corner of this design - and have enjoyed sitting in the garden in the sunshine - what better way to recuperate after surgery!
In order to speed up my recovery, I thought a little bit of internet retail therapy was needed - and as I'd already treated myself to some GORGEOUS Lecien fabrics last week from Sew and So's at Bungay, this week I'm having a little treat from my favourite jewellery designer, Amanda Davie. What do you think of these Patina Stack earrings? This awesome stack of embellished metals has been enhanced with a bit of Jasper. Amanda has wire wrapped the ear wires and added a bit of turquoise for a unique look. I've requested lever backs on these too, as I think they are a bit more secure, and I'd HATE one of these little babies to get lost!! Ohhh PLEASE hurry up Mr Postman!!
Well it's day 4 of the "Tour de Fibre" and I've made a slow but steady progress with my first project "Sew Laugh Love" (pattern by Leanne Beasley) and also making a very slow but also steady progress with my post-op recovery too!! I'd been enjoying some leisure breakfasts in the garden, and have enjoyed a bit of hand sewing as well - although there has been rather a lot of unpicking too!!
