Wishing all dads out there a very Happy Father's Day - and remembering my own dad who is sadly no longer with us. I've got so many happy memories of him. His beauty routine was pretty quick - a dab of Brylcreme and a splash of Old Spice .... .....as a little girl I would meet him on his way home from work. My favourite part of sitting in dad's lorry with him was having a swig of cold black tea that was left over from his lunch (???!!!!!) - can't believe I drank such awful stuff, but I guess it tasted good because it was my dad's :) .....he really was a true gentleman, and his passions were few - gardening, boxing, wrestling (as a little girl I spent many a Saturday afternoon squashed into his armchair with him watching Mick McManus on TV) and walking - we'd walk miles on a Sunday afternoon after lunch, collecting hazelnuts and chestnuts, with my younger sisters trailing behind moaning because their legs ached or wanting to hitch a ride in the pushchair with my baby sister Becky! As he got older he loved walking in the Yorkshire Dales with my mum - this is a fav piccie of him, near Malham Tarn. My one regret is that we didn't have a family holiday altogether with him and mum - with all his daughters and grandaughters.... .....and finally a quick update on Jasper - he bounded into our lives and hasn't stopped yet! He's such a happy puppy, full of fun and energy - and has completely taken over the Foreman household!

My eldest daughter, Beth, is 19 years old today - it seems like only yesterday that little girl came into our lives - where does the time go?? This is Beth with Mr F when she was about a year old..... ..... this was delicious - no, I didn't bake it myself - why bother when Marks and Spencers do such a good job??..... .....but I did make this for her - ANOTHER make-up bag, filled with all sorts of goodies for her nails - this was made with some left-over scraps from a very special quilt, which I'll blog abaout as soon as it's finished and posted off to it's new owner ;) I haven't done any sewing at all this weekend, as Mr F and me have been on a mini break to Eastbourne to visit my neice who is expecting her first baby. Yesterday we left Mr F with the boys (my neice's fiance, his dad and my nephew) landscaping the garden while we did a spot of sightseeing and then had a lovely lunch down at the Marina..... .....last night Michelle cooked a delicious meal and I prepared one of my infamous Pavlovas..... .....this morning Mr F and me went for a stroll along Beachy Head before heading home to sunny Suffolk. Now I've got to get a baby quilt made asap as this baby will soon be here and it hasn't got a Foreman quilt yet!! Happy Mother's Day!! Here's a picture of MY mum - with her four girls - my three sisters Becky, (who organised my FAB-U-LOUS blog and website for me!!), Rachel, and Lisa - who makes the most incredible crafty creations - I've blogged about her before, and some of her goodies are for sale here and last of all yours truely..... .....and here are my own two lovely daughters..... .....I've had a lovely day, and have been thoroughly spoilt - brunch cooked by Mr F, pressies from my girls, and this evening with Lewis on TV and a bottle of wine :) Would you believe it - 23 years ago today, I was a blushing bride - goodness don't I look young!!! .....it was a beautiful spring day, and the sun was shining - just like the weather today..... .....lots of cards from family and friends - and a bouquet from Mr F!!!..... .....we have been out for a meal tonight to celebrate - the "Wilford Bridge" pub at Melton - the girls came too, and it was really nice to be out together as a family :) For the last few weeks, my daughter Beth has been suggesting we go out to lunch, so today we went off to the Farm Shop at Friday Street, Farnham - sorry, no pics of our lunch - we ate lunch before I had time to get my camera out of my bag!! On the way home we called in to Snape Maltings and had a lovely look round at the shops there..... .....there were lots and lots of lovely things to look at..... .....hmmm - might have to go again next week..... .....it was nice having a browse around, and even nicer spending a few hours with my daughter - it'll be Alice's turn at the weekend!!! |
