I recently purchased this cute little Easter sack from Tillyanna - ready for me to fill with some Easter goodies for my little grandson. This little bag has a drawstring closure, and can personalised with a choice of fonts, and has a very fluffy bunnies tail attached. It's so sweet, just perfect for little hands to carry.

I was very restrained with my shopping at the Cotton Club Exhibition of Amazing Quilts. I bought a gorgeous quilt panel by Oasis Fabrics, along with a bottle of Mary Ellen's Best Press from Patch Fabrics - a small pack of wadding by Birdie Bird from Kis Quilting Ltd - and some small kits which will make perfect gifts for my quilty friends by Helen Butcher of Little Patch Pockets and Helen Howes Textiles.
There were lots of tempting goodies at the Cotton Club Exhibition of Amazing Quilts in Wickham Market. It was lovely to catch up with Helen Butcher from Little Patch Pockets, the lovely ladies from Kis Quilting Ltd and Simply Haberdashery - and a new-to-me shop Patch Fabrics - and yes, a few purchases were made!
The show is on again today and tomorrow, so do pop along if you can! There are lots of lovely quilts on display at the Cotton Club Exhibition of Amazing Quilts at Wickham Market. I went along this morning, and it was lovely to have a catch-up with friends, some of whom I hadn't seen for ages. There are several stalls selling all sorts of quilty goodies, as well as refreshments. The exhibition is open again tomorrow and Sunday, and it is well worth a visit - oh, and did I mention the delicious array of cakes? Umfortunately I didn't get any pictures of those!
I'm really looking forward to viviting this local exhibition of quilts tomorrow - will I see you there? There will be lots of wonderful quilts to see, and I'm hoping to do a little bit of shopping too, and there's always a good selection of cakes to eat will a well deserved cup of tea, and hopefully a catchup with several quilting friends.
I recently signed up to take part in the Valdani Thread Club organised by Poppy Patch here in the UK. Each month I'll receive a selection of variegated stranded embroidery threads - Valdni threads are hand dyed, and the colours are gorgeous. The first month has these fabulous colours - now I can't wait for the next set to arrive!
The first selection of colours are as follows: P5 Tarnished Gold P6 - Rusted Orange O12 - Sunshine Glory O561 - Shimmering Denim P1 - Old Brick M1001 - Vanilla Sky Especially for Valentines Day - I made this wall hanging back in 2008. The pattern is Valentine Bouquet by Hilary Gooding, and was a free download from the Makower UK website. This was machine pieced, machine appliquéd and machine quilted, all on my small Bernina 230PE.
I'm currently away from my sewing studio, and won't return home for a few more weeks. As I won't be able to do as much machine sewing as I normally do, I need a few hand sewing projects. These pretty designs by The Birdhouse Patchwork Designs were just what I needed. These were ordered from Poppy Patch and quickly arrived in the post. Thankfully I've got my large box of threads with me while I'm away from home, so these shoukd keep me busy for the next few weeks!
I recently bought this sweet project from Poppy Patch and it's been perfect for some hand stitching in the evenings while I'm away from my sewing studio. The pattern is My Heart Sings by The Birdhouse Patchwork Designs and includes the pre-printed calico. I'm using a selection of DMC Threads stranded embroidery threads along with a Hiroshima Tulip embroidery needle... ...and here's the completed stitchery design. It just needs to be pressed, then it will be ready to be framed.
