This pile of pretty scraps is the result of fusing 98 x 1" Hugs 'n Kisses applique paper clam shells to this gorgeous Tilda fabric and then cutting out all 98 of those darling little 1" clam shells. These teeny tiny 1" clam shells are so addictive! Using Hugs 'n Kisses pre-cut applique paper templates make them so much easier. I only need 98 of them for my next project!... ...in case you were wondering what 98 x 1" clam shells look like - this is it! My non-slip black applique mat is really useful for arranging the layout, before I stitch them into rows with a "grab" stitch. These GORGEOUS fabrics are by Tilda, and I used pre-cut 1" fusible applique paper templates from Hugs 'n Kisses (they were included with the pattern for the Scissor Cozy). Now I just need to shut myself in my sewing studio for a few hours and stitch these little darlings together.

Here's a cluster of EPP 6 pointed stars. These were made with 1" 6 point diamond paper templates, bought online from Sew & Quilt and are ready for block 6 and block 8 of my Hearts and Happy Flowers quilt. The paper templates are really simple to use and I'm really pleased with how simple they are to stitch together. These stars will be appliqued into place once the embroidery has been completed on the blocks.
The hand embroidery for Block 5 of Hearts and Happy Flowers was completed back in December 2018, and just needed to be trimmed to size, and the borders added. Cosmo embroidery threads were used for this, and the colours are really gorgeous. This will be the centre block of my quilt and it really is lovely. I may well stitch this design again in the future, as a cushion front. Now the borders are on, it just needs a good press, and can be stored away until I finish the remaining 4 blocks.
Just a few days ago these beautiful skeins arrived from Cross Patch too! These will be added to my growing CGT collection - these threads can be a bit tricky to source here in the UK but Cross Patch (an amazing online shop based in Wales) has a good selection, and Julia's customer service is excellent. Then yesterday guess what super treat was waiting for me when I arrived home from work - a few more skeins of Cottage Garden Threads! These are GORGEOUS colours and are really lovely to sew with. Thank you so much Julia! ...
